Tech my Style with STEM in Style
STEM in Style is all about providing creative learning spaces for young people to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through fashion and design. Our Style my Tech maker workshops task young creators to design accessories that feature a tech solution.
The aim is provide a fun, tactile experience with technology and exemplify how STEM is combined with clothing and accessories to create functional fashion that creatively solves problems.
Whilst this session can be enjoyed by all ages, the target ages are 11-16 and parental/guardian supervision is necessary for all under 16’s.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of the hardware ie. to sew circuits and then the fundamentals of the software ie. to code circuits. All participants will take home their completed sewable circuit design which they can further develop if they wish! Options include: an accessory that can be attached to a garment, bag, worn as jewellery or even worn in their hair!

Laptops are not needed to take part in this workshop.
Workshops are attended on a first come, first served basis till capacity is reached.

Bio
A fashionista with a passion for maths, tech and making! Takita has founded STEM in Style as a culmination of her background in maths, fashion design and working with young people. From designing Jewellery for the likes of Ellie Goulding, to delivering tech/coding workshops and interactive exhibitions for over 7000 young people - she is striving to empower and equip young people with the creative skills and technical prowess to be leaders and innovators of the future.
