My beginnings in tech, and WordPress the early years
Mike Little will talk through his early life, his start in software development, and progress through to the beginnings of the WordPress project. He will give an overview of the current state of WordPress and its community.
Bio
Mike Little is the co-founder of WordPress, the software that runs 33% of the web. He is the director of Zed1.com Ltd his WordPress-specialist consultancy and training company.
He has worked on many WordPress sites including UK government sites, most notably he enhanced and supported the No10 Downing Street site for the Cabinet Office from 2008-2010; he developed three Law Commission consultation sites and blogs; and a custom WordPress site for DWP. He developed the award-winning “I’m a Scientist, Get Me Out of Here” site for his client, Gallomanor, and continues to enhance it.
He works part-time for Human Made a WordPress development agency that brings open source to big publishers and enterprise-level clients. There he has worked on projects for Greenpeace, Unison, and more.
His background is in software development, and he has nearly 30 years under his belt, many at the most senior levels. He is a member of Mensa, a published author, and a technical editor.
He lives with his family in Stockport, England.
